Private sailing trips aboard Kerrawyn, a restored 1948 wooden ketch, from Franklin or Cygnet, including a three-day, two-night Bruny Island voyage for up to six.
Franklin · TAS · 0 reviewed vessels
Sail Kerrawyn runs private trips aboard Kerrawyn, a traditional wooden ketch, departing Franklin Marina beside the Wooden Boat Centre or Cygnet Public Wharf. The signature trip is the Bruny Island Experience: three days and two nights through the D'Entrecasteaux Channel to quiet anchorages around Bruny Island for up to six people, with meals and bedding included. Half-day and full-day special-occasion cruises are quoted on request.
Kerrawyn's hull was built in Cygnet in 1948 and 1949. She spent decades as a crayfish boat and later a shark-fishing boat before owners David and Anastasia bought her in 2014 and converted her into a comfortable cruising yacht. Guests can help raise sail and anchor, then go ashore to walk beaches and bush or try some fishing.
It suits families and friends wanting a hands-on, unhurried trip on a heritage boat in sheltered southern waters. Bookings are made by phone with Dave and need at least two days' notice.
