About
Glenelg-based 58-foot sailing catamaran running wild dolphin swims, twilight and coastal cruises, plus private charters from Holdfast Shores Marina.
Service area: Glenelg and the Adelaide coast, Gulf St Vincent
Temptation Sailing operates the 58-foot sailing catamaran Temptation from Marina Pier at Holdfast Shores Marina in Glenelg, about 15 minutes from the Adelaide CBD. Locally owned and operated since 2001, it runs wild dolphin swim and watch tours, twilight and coastal day cruises, afternoon tea cruises, a Kauwi cultural cruise and DJ nights, as well as private charters.
The boat has a fully licensed bar, a furnished cabin and a 360-degree front viewing deck, and is in survey for up to 50 passengers. The company says it was the first vessel in South Australia to hold a dolphin swim licence, in January 2002. Private charters run for 1.5, 2 or 3 hours between noon and 11pm, subject to availability.
Private charters suit parties and celebrations of 10 to 50 guests; you can bring food, but drinks must come from the bar. Three-hour charters run Monday to Thursday outside public holidays, and several public cruises have age limits, so check details and the operating season when booking.
