About
Private and shared Whitsunday charters from Airlie Beach, including fast skippered day trips on Wings I and crewed sailing-catamaran trips on Wings III.
Service area: Whitsunday Islands, Queensland
Wings gives Whitsunday visitors two very different ways to get on the water from Airlie Beach. Wings I, also known as Airlie Beach Express, is a fast rigid inflatable used for private skippered day trips, including weather-dependent visits to highlights such as Whitehaven Beach. Wings III is a custom 60-foot sailing catamaran used for shared day and sunset tours as well as private crewed multi-day Whitsunday holidays.
That mix makes the operator more flexible than a single-vessel charter page. Guests wanting speed, beaches and a private day can look at Wings I; groups wanting a broader sailing-catamaran platform can consider Wings III. Both products are crewed, so the focus is on enjoying the islands rather than running the boat.

Introductory paragraphs for a sailing guide to the Ribbon Reefs (Queensland): two short paragraphs describing what makes the Ribbon Reefs distinctive from the water, the sailing experiences they offer, the kinds of boats and preparation required, relationships between sheltered lagoon waters and exposed outer reef, and how the Ribbon Reefs connect to nearby cruising grounds such as Lizard Island and the northern Cairns area.
Pick a protected bay, estuary or river reach where you can rig, launch and arrive on calm water within a short, sheltered transit; choose a site with a good ramp or jetty, clear recovery options and a nearby sailing club, marina or commercial operator for local knowledge and help.

The float plan should give someone ashore all the information they need to find you and raise help if you don’t return; the emergency kit should allow you to stabilise the boat, care for injuries, signal for rescue and survive until help arrives.

Explore →Use ramps and beaches with respect for local conditions: check ramp layout, tide and swell, wind direction, vehicle access and crowding; prepare boat and crew before you launch or retrieve; and follow local signage, courtesy and safety practices. Specifics vary by ramp and beach, so confirm details for the exact site before you go.
