Eco-certified Port Stephens operator since 1995, with whale, dolphin and snorkelling cruises and private charters on a purpose-built 16-metre sailing catamaran.
Nelson Bay · NSW · 0 reviewed vessels
Imagine Cruises has operated in Port Stephens since 1995, founded by Frank Future and Yves Papin. Its vessel, Imagine, is a 16-metre sailing catamaran designed for eco-tourism, and the business holds Advanced Eco Certification and supports marine research and conservation.
The program follows the seasons. Whale watching runs from May to November, with sightings guaranteed from 1 June to 1 November or a free return cruise; dolphin cruises run from November to April, and snorkelling from December to March. The catamaran can also be chartered by the hour, day or evening all year for up to 60 guests, for weddings, birthdays, corporate functions and school excursions, with catering priced per head.
The scheduled cruises suit families and visitors after a wildlife-focused outing under sail, and family fares are available. The company says the boat isn't easily suited to wheelchairs, though it may be able to help guests who can manage about five stairs if told in advance.
