View profile“Sam at Mona Vale Marine was fantastic. He serviced and fixed my son’s old 5hp engine for his tinny when no one else was willing to look at it because of its age. Sam was professional, easy to deal with, upfront about costs, and made a real effort to keep everything to a minimum. He also gave helpful advice about what engines to consider next as my son gains more experience. Highly recommended — best in the area.”
Thank you Steve!
“Sammy was super professional and did a great job for a big job on our stern drive. Was super impressed at how he explained the work being carried out and the importance of certain parts of the service. Definitely 👍 Will book the boat in for our next service.”
“Great reliable service! On time, super efficient, friendly and a great job done!”
“Sam called me back within the hour. Came out and collected my 15hp Yamaha outboard that didn’t work for last 8months and I haven’t serviced for 7 years! Didn’t have much hope for it however Sam checked compression onsite took it away and performed his magic. Sam sent messages with regular updates on progress, parts and additional costs which were all very reasonable. 3 days later I got a call saying motor is back on the boat working fine with no surprises with the bill. Thanks Sam Got my new outboard mechanic 👍”
Thank you Anthony!
“If you're after integrity, easy communication, meticulous diagnosis, onsite assistance and a 'no job is too big or too small' can do attitude.... Sam is your man. A rare find these days. Outstanding service on all fronts.”
American River (Kangaroo Island, SA) is a small, sheltered inlet and township on the north‑eastern side of Kangaroo Island that acts as a calm staging point for cruising the eastern part of the island and for short hops through Backstairs Passage. It’s distinctive for its protected anchorage inside Eastern Cove and the adjacency of Pelican Lagoon — a shallow, ecologically important lagoon with sanctuary zoning — which shapes how and where boats can move. The area suits sheltered day sailing, weekend cruising and short coastal passages; it’s appropriate for trailer sailors, small cruisers and a
Maybe — it depends. In NSW you often need registration and a boat operator licence for motorised vessels, but many small trailerable sailing dinghies without engines don’t require boat registration or a licence. Check the specific rules for your craft, trailer and engine.
