About Salty Sydney Harbour
Salty Sydney Harbour is a family-owned business sailing Sydney Harbour on two yachts. Bumblebee 4 is a 79ft German Frers maxi built in 1979 and licensed for up to 49 guests, while Blue Moon is a 12-metre Beneteau First 40.7 for smaller groups. Blue Moon pick-ups from Rushcutters Bay or Rose Bay are included, with other wharves at extra cost.
The program covers private charters from 2.5 to 8 hours and set sails including a two-hour highlights sail, twilight, brunch and dinner sails, and a three-hour yacht race, plus shared 'Sail Like A Local' and maxi yacht sails. For companies, the maxi runs charity regattas under racing sails and team-building days. Experienced sailors can hire Blue Moon without a skipper for 6, 8 or 12 hours, with multi-day hire quoted on request.
The maxi suits bigger groups and anyone wanting the feel of a real ocean racer, while Blue Moon suits couples and small parties. Self-drive hire requires an RYA Day Skipper, ISSA or US Sailing qualification or equivalent charter experience, plus a $3,000 bond, and public holidays carry a 20% surcharge.
