Flagstaff Marine

Rather than operating simply as a boat sales office, Flagstaff promotes a more complete ownership service covering the process from choosing and configuring a boat through commissioning, delivery, maintenance and eventually selling it again.

What Flagstaff Marine Does

New Yacht and Boat Sales

Flagstaff Marine represents a selection of international boatbuilders and sells new sailing yachts, powerboats, multihulls and RIBs.

The sailing side of the business ranges from relatively conventional production cruising yachts through to considerably more specialised offshore vessels.

Current or recently promoted ranges include:

Beneteau Oceanis cruising yachts Beneteau First performance yachts Beneteau Oceanis Yacht AMEL 50 AMEL 60 SILENT solar-electric yachts Lomac RIBs Beneteau Gran Turismo powerboats

Flagstaff's current website also promotes new 2026 Beneteau models including the Oceanis 47, Oceanis 52 and Gran Turismo 40.

The useful part for buyers is the variety. Someone looking for a relatively simple coastal cruiser is making a very different decision from somebody intending to live aboard and cross oceans, and Flagstaff deals with boats covering both ends of that spectrum.

Used Yacht and Boat Brokerage

A major part of Flagstaff Marine is its brokerage operation.

The company lists pre-owned:

Sailing yachts Cruising yachts Performance yachts Racing yachts Catamarans Motor yachts Powerboats RIBs

Its brokerage team operates across its NSW and Queensland offices, and Flagstaff says its network now provides coverage along Australia's eastern seaboard.

For buyers, the brokerage section provides a searchable selection of vessels from different manufacturers rather than restricting the search to brands represented by Flagstaff.

For sellers, Flagstaff offers brokerage representation and promotes a free market appraisal to help owners establish how their boat may sit within the current market.

Buying a Boat Through Flagstaff

Flagstaff's approach to buying starts with determining what the owner actually intends to do with the boat.

That can include questions such as:

Coastal cruising or offshore sailing Racing or cruising Monohull or multihull New or pre-owned Short-handed or crewed sailing Family cruising Liveaboard use Performance priorities Comfort priorities Budget and ownership costs

The business then offers assistance with finding or configuring a boat around those requirements.

Flagstaff's enquiry process specifically allows buyers to request assistance with:

Choosing the right boat Customisation Commissioning Finding a berth or mooring Australian delivery European delivery Insurance Finance Maintenance

That makes the dealership particularly relevant for someone purchasing their first larger yacht, where buying the vessel is only one part of the process.

Selling a Boat Through Flagstaff

Owners can also engage Flagstaff specifically to sell an existing yacht or powerboat.

The brokerage operation provides vessel marketing and buyer handling through Flagstaff's network of offices and online listings.

Flagstaff operates from several major boating areas along the east coast, which gives brokerage boats exposure beyond a single local marina or sailing community.

The company specifically invites owners considering selling to request a free market appraisal.

For yacht owners planning to upgrade, this also means Flagstaff can potentially be involved on both sides of the transaction: selling the current vessel and sourcing or supplying the replacement.

Commissioning New Boats

Buying a new yacht involves considerably more than having the boat delivered from the factory.

Flagstaff provides commissioning services, preparing new boats after manufacture and transport before they are handed over to their owners.

Depending on the vessel, commissioning can include installation, checking and preparation of equipment and systems required before launch and handover.

Flagstaff describes having dedicated commissioning teams and established processes for preparing new yachts when they arrive in Australia.

For imported yachts this is an important part of the purchase because boats can arrive with the hull, mast, keel and equipment requiring final assembly and preparation before the vessel is genuinely ready to sail.

Australian and European Delivery

Flagstaff offers both Australian and European delivery options on suitable new yachts.

European delivery can be particularly interesting for Australian sailors intending to spend time cruising overseas before eventually bringing the yacht back to Australia.

Flagstaff states that clients choosing delivery in France can receive assistance from its team while the vessel is prepared and handed over in Europe.

Australian delivery follows the more conventional approach, with the vessel transported to Australia and commissioned locally before handover.

Maintenance and Boat Management

Flagstaff's relationship with owners does not necessarily finish when the boat changes hands.

The company advertises boat maintenance and management packages, designed to help owners keep their vessels maintained and ready to use.

This fits with Flagstaff's wider approach of providing support through the ownership cycle rather than operating exclusively as a transactional brokerage.

For owners who may not live close to their boat, travel frequently or simply do not want to coordinate individual marine trades themselves, this type of management service can be particularly useful.

Warranty and After-Sales Support

Flagstaff states that it provides after-sale and warranty support for both new and second-hand boats.

Its published company information specifically describes continuing to provide new and used boat sales together with warranty and after-sale services.

For new-boat buyers this can be particularly important during the first year of ownership, when commissioning issues, manufacturer warranty matters or equipment problems can occasionally appear after the boat begins being used regularly.

Parts

Flagstaff also provides marine parts support.

The company has been developing an online parts-ordering system, initially aimed at BENETEAU owners before being expanded across additional brands.

This reflects Flagstaff's long involvement with the Beneteau fleet in Australia, where maintaining access to model-specific replacement components can become increasingly useful as boats get older.

Finance and Insurance

Flagstaff can also connect buyers with services relating to:

Marine finance Boat insurance

These are presented as supporting services around the purchase rather than Flagstaff itself being described as the lender or insurer.

For buyers, having these options available during the purchasing process can simplify some of the administration involved in completing a larger yacht transaction.

Charter Investment

Flagstaff also promotes charter investment boats.

This option is aimed at owners who want access to a boat while placing the vessel into commercial charter for part of its life.

Charter ownership is very different from straightforward private ownership, particularly when it comes to usage, maintenance, taxation, wear and eventual resale, so buyers considering this route should assess the complete structure rather than simply comparing the purchase price of the boat.
