Peter Hansen Yacht Brokers is a long-established Queensland marine brokerage operating from Raby Bay Marina in Cleveland. With more than 40 years in the Brisbane boating market, the business brings together boat sales, buyer support, marina berths and practical ownership assistance in one bayside location.
The brokerage works with both power and sailing vessels, ranging from smaller family boats and coastal cruisers to flybridge motor yachts, sailing yachts, multihulls and luxury power catamarans. Its position at Raby Bay gives the team direct access to Brisbane’s eastern bayside, the Redlands and the wider Moreton Bay boating community.
Peter Hansen Yacht Brokers is accredited with the Boating Industry Association of Australia and operates in accordance with the industry’s code of practice.
For buyers, the team can help narrow down the huge number of brands, layouts and vessel types available. That can be particularly valuable for someone moving from a smaller boat into a larger cruiser, comparing a monohull with a catamaran or trying to decide between a sports cruiser, flybridge yacht and long-range motor vessel.

The brokerage can assist with the practical stages of a purchase, including arranging inspections, coordinating marine surveys and sea trials, negotiating with the seller and helping with registration and transfer paperwork.
Support may also extend to insurance, repairs, safety requirements, training, delivery and checking that any finance or ownership interests registered against the vessel are properly cleared before settlement.
The goal is to help buyers find a vessel that suits how they actually intend to use it, rather than simply focusing on appearance, size or equipment.
Peter Hansen Yacht Brokers provides a complete brokerage service for owners preparing to sell a boat or yacht.
The process begins with discussing the vessel, reviewing its condition and equipment, and setting an appropriate position for the current market. The team can also advise owners on presentation and preparation work that may improve the boat’s appeal or help it achieve a stronger result.
Marketing packages can include detailed specification sheets, equipment inventories, professional photography, edited video walkthroughs, drone footage and promotion through specialist boat-sale websites, social media, YouTube, print media and the brokerage’s own database.
The business promotes vessels directly to a database of more than 10,000 prospective buyers. Sellers are kept informed about enquiries, inspections, buyer feedback and online activity, giving them a clearer picture of how the market is responding.
Once a buyer is found, the brokers can manage negotiations, inspections, surveys, sea trials, paperwork, compliance matters, transfer arrangements and settlement. Commission is agreed in advance and is generally payable when the vessel is sold, with the advertised marketing package included in the brokerage arrangement.
The brokerage’s inventory changes regularly, but its sales history covers a broad mix of recreational vessels. These have included sailing yachts, family cruisers, sports cruisers, flybridge motor yachts, offshore fishing boats, trailerable boats, monohulls and multihulls.
Previous listings have included vessels from brands such as Riviera, Jeanneau, Boston Whaler, Voyager, Aquila, Maritimo, Sea Ray and other established Australian and international manufacturers.
This varied portfolio makes the business relevant to buyers looking for anything from an easy weekend boat through to a substantial cruising yacht or liveaboard-style vessel.
Peter Hansen Yacht Brokers is the Australian representative for OMAYA Yachts, a European builder specialising in luxury power catamarans.
OMAYA is backed by more than 30 years of industrial manufacturing experience through the ELICA Group. Its yachts are constructed at a purpose-built 15,000-square-metre facility beside the Danube River, using in-house composite production, CNC machinery, robotic milling and modern design and manufacturing systems.
The first model in the range is the OMAYA 50, a 50-foot power catamaran designed around generous living areas, an 8.4-metre beam and more than 150 square metres of combined living space across its main deck, accommodation areas and flybridge.
The design is aimed at private owners and charter operators looking for the space and stability of a catamaran with the finish and comfort expected from a premium motor yacht. Peter Hansen Yacht Brokers provides Australian sales enquiries, technical support and ongoing assistance through its network of marine specialists.
Raby Bay Marina is a sheltered boutique marina with 75 floating berths. It sits within the protected canals of Raby Bay, surrounded by a waterfront boardwalk in Cleveland.
The marina is positioned within easy reach of Moreton Bay. Horseshoe Bay on Peel Island is only a short run away, while boat owners can head north into the more open waters of the bay or follow the sheltered channels south towards the Southern Moreton Bay Islands and the Gold Coast.
The marina’s wide fairways provide good manoeuvring room, and individual berth rows are secured. Water and electricity are supplied to the berths, while tenants and visiting boat owners have access to bathrooms, showers and secure fenced parking.
The marina and internal canals are maintained to an advertised minimum depth of approximately four metres. Deeper-draft vessels should still take care in the main entrance channel outside the marina, where the published shallow area is approximately 2.1 metres at low water. Local conditions, tides and the latest navigation information should always be checked before entering.
Berths may be available for casual stays, longer-term rental or lease purchase, depending on current availability.
Published berth sizes accommodate monohulls from approximately 10 to 21 metres and multihulls from approximately 10 to 16 metres. Rental arrangements can include daily, weekly and ongoing periods, with water, electricity, marina amenities and secured parking included.
For berth applications, owners are asked to provide details of the vessel, emergency contacts and current boat insurance. Contractors working aboard boats within the marina must also meet the marina’s access and insurance requirements.
Berth leases may occasionally be offered for sale. Availability, lease expiry dates, annual levies and asking prices vary, so these details are handled directly through the marina office.
Raby Bay Marina has a fuel dock supplying diesel and premium unleaded petrol through standard and high-flow pumps.
Fuel is available 24 hours a day using the pay-at-pump facility, which is handy for early departures, late returns and owners heading out before the marina office opens. Fuel prices are published on the marina website and can change regularly.
The marina also advertises fuel additives, oil products and gas-refill availability.
The concierge side of the business is designed for owners who want to enjoy their boat without spending every spare weekend organising maintenance.
Support can be arranged on an individual basis, from refuelling the boat before a trip through to coordinating annual servicing or a more involved refit. The team can collect a vessel from its berth, take it to the required service location and return it once the work is completed.
Concierge arrangements may include refuelling, vessel pickup and delivery, servicing, antifouling, detailing and repair coordination. Work is completed through selected marine trades under the brokerage team’s supervision.
The Boat Works at Coomera is identified as the company’s preferred major service location, particularly when a boat requires out-of-water work, protected workshop space or access to several specialist trades.
The business can organise regular servicing for engines, generators and the many onboard systems that keep a cruising boat comfortable and reliable.
This can include mechanical servicing, annual system checks, refrigeration, toilets, pumps, electrical equipment and other essential onboard components. Factory-qualified or specially trained tradespeople are used where the work requires brand-specific or technical expertise.
Preventive maintenance is an important part of the approach. A small fault in a fridge, toilet, generator, charging system or engine can quickly ruin a planned weekend, so regular checks can make ownership far less stressful.
Owners can also arrange larger repair, restoration and refit projects through the business.
Depending on the vessel and the work required, this may involve antifouling, polishing, detailing, mechanical repairs, electrical work, upholstery, equipment upgrades or a broader cosmetic and technical refit.
Peter Hansen Yacht Brokers can help coordinate the project, organise suitable contractors and oversee the work. This gives owners a central contact instead of requiring them to manage several unrelated trades themselves.
Professional skipper support can be arranged for owners who need help moving a boat, gaining confidence with a new vessel or completing a handover.
This can be useful after purchasing an unfamiliar boat, particularly when stepping up in size or moving into a twin-engine motor yacht, flybridge vessel or multihull. A skipper can help the owner become familiar with manoeuvring, docking, anchoring and the vessel’s onboard systems.
Delivery assistance may also be organised when a purchased boat needs to be moved to a different marina or cruising area.
The business provides assistance with boat insurance placement and renewal, along with agreed-value appraisals where required.
Insurance support can be particularly helpful during a purchase, as buyers may need suitable cover in place before settlement, marina acceptance or delivery. Policy conditions, navigation limits and survey requirements should still be reviewed carefully by the owner.
Cleveland is a practical base for exploring the southern side of Moreton Bay. Peel Island, North Stradbroke Island, Coochiemudlo Island, Macleay Island and the sheltered waters around the Southern Moreton Bay Islands are all within the broader local cruising area.
The location works well for weekend boating, family cruising and owners who want access to both open bay water and more protected island channels.
Raby Bay Marina is also unusually convenient ashore. Cafes, restaurants and bars overlook the boardwalk, while supermarkets, bottle shops, laundromats and other supplies are within walking distance. Cleveland railway station and the bus interchange are close to the marina, providing public transport connections towards Brisbane and Brisbane Airport.
Peter Hansen Yacht Brokers is particularly well suited to buyers and sellers who appreciate having brokerage, berthing and ownership support available through the same local team.
It can assist first-time buyers who need guidance through the process, experienced owners moving into a larger vessel, sellers wanting a professionally managed marketing campaign and marina customers looking for a berth in a sheltered Moreton Bay location.
The combination of brokerage experience, new power-catamaran representation, marina facilities and concierge support gives the business a broader role than a standard boat-sales office.

The Arnhem Land Coast (Northern Territory) is a large, remote Top End seascape of rugged sandstone headlands, wide tidal flats, mangrove-fringed estuaries and scattered islands. Distinctive for its strong cultural ownership by Aboriginal Traditional Owners, extensive marine country and seasonally dramatic tides and winds, it offers adventurous cruising and exploration rather than marina-based boating. Best suited to experienced coastal cruisers, well-equipped trailable or fly-in/boat-out excursions and small commercial charters who have organised the necessary access permits and local advice.
Use ramps and beaches with respect for local conditions: check ramp layout, tide and swell, wind direction, vehicle access and crowding; prepare boat and crew before you launch or retrieve; and follow local signage, courtesy and safety practices. Specifics vary by ramp and beach, so confirm details for the exact site before you go.

Maybe — it depends. In NSW you often need registration and a boat operator licence for motorised vessels, but many small trailerable sailing dinghies without engines don’t require boat registration or a licence. Check the specific rules for your craft, trailer and engine.
