About
Queensland-based yacht and catamaran brokerage operating from the Sunshine Coast and serving buyers and sellers across Australia. Offers brokerage services for sail and power yachts, new-boat dealership relationships for selected European marques, superyacht sales support and related seller services including appraisal, marketing, sea trials and handover coordination.
Service area: Australia
World Wide Boat Brokers is an Australian yacht brokerage specialising in sailing yachts, powerboats, catamarans and larger luxury vessels. From its Sunshine Coast head office, the company has developed a network covering major boating regions across Queensland, Sydney and Tasmania, while also helping clients buy and sell vessels internationally.
The business was founded in 2018 and is led by Ant Kovacevic, a qualified naval architect, yacht broker and lifelong boating enthusiast. That technical foundation is a genuine point of difference. The team is not limited to salespeople learning boat specifications from brochures. It includes naval architecture, superyacht, marine electrical, vessel construction, commercial maritime, racing, delivery and offshore cruising experience.
World Wide Boat Brokers says it has assisted more than 3,000 clients with yacht purchases and sales around the world. Its work now covers pre-owned brokerage, new-yacht representation, buyer advocacy, yacht syndication, marine insurance and services for larger yachts and superyachts.
Keep exploring
The brokerage handles a broad range of recreational and commercial vessels.
Its listings regularly include sailing monohulls, cruising catamarans, power catamarans, motor cruisers, expedition vessels, trawler yachts and larger luxury yachts. The team’s strongest specialisation is in catamarans and cruising yachts, although its brokers work across both sail and power.
This broad range can be helpful for buyers who have not yet settled on one type of boat. Someone planning to cruise the Queensland coast might be comparing a sailing catamaran, a traditional monohull, a long-range power catamaran and a displacement trawler. Each comes with a very different balance of space, running costs, marina requirements, sailing ability and maintenance.
The company’s role is to help buyers work through those differences and identify vessels that fit their experience, budget and intended use.
World Wide Boat Brokers maintains a varied selection of pre-owned yachts and boats located around Australia and overseas.
Buyers can browse listings, request equipment inventories, speak directly with the broker responsible for a vessel and arrange a private inspection or sea trial.
A broker can also help coordinate the practical stages of the purchase, including:
The company’s listings can range from smaller cruising yachts to multimillion-dollar catamarans, expedition boats and luxury motor yachts.
World Wide Boat Brokers also offers a dedicated buyer’s agent service.
This is useful when the right boat is not already listed by the company, when the search extends across several states or countries, or when a buyer wants someone representing their interests throughout the process.
A buyer’s agent can help define the search, identify suitable vessels, contact listing brokers and private sellers, compare pricing and organise inspections. The service may also be useful for international purchases where transport, registration, import requirements and communication with an overseas seller can make the transaction more complicated.
Independent surveys, legal advice and specialist inspections may still be required, but the buyer’s agent can help bring the different parts of the purchase together.
For owners preparing to sell, World Wide Boat Brokers begins with a no-obligation market appraisal.
The broker considers the vessel’s make, model, age, equipment, condition, location and the current market for comparable boats. The company places particular emphasis on setting a realistic asking price rather than attracting a listing with an inflated valuation that may leave the boat sitting unsold.
Its sales approach is built around three main ideas: presentation, market position and price.
Presentation may involve advising the owner about servicing, antifouling, cleaning, decluttering and small repairs before photography begins. A well-presented boat is easier for buyers to understand and gives them greater confidence when they first step aboard.
Listings can include professional photography, drone footage, walkthrough video, detailed specifications and carefully prepared sales copy. Marketing is distributed through major brokerage platforms, the company’s website, its buyer database, email campaigns and social channels.
Once the boat is listed, a dedicated broker manages enquiries, inspections, sea trials, negotiations, survey arrangements, settlement and handover.
Alongside its pre-owned brokerage, World Wide Boat Brokers represents several new-yacht brands in Australia and Queensland.
Its current new-boat portfolio includes Southerly Yachts, Excess Catamarans and the Hanse Group brands Hanse, Dehler, Moody, Fjord and Sealine.
The team can help buyers choose a model, develop the factory specification, place an order and manage the process through delivery and commissioning in Australia.
New-boat support can include:
World Wide Boat Brokers is the Australian dealer for Southerly Yachts.
Southerly is a British yacht builder best known for its swing-keel cruising yachts. The lifting keel allows the vessel to combine a deeper sailing draft offshore with a much shallower draft when exploring protected waterways.
Depending on the model and seabed, the design can also allow the yacht to take the ground upright. This gives owners access to shallow anchorages, tidal harbours and cruising areas that may be unavailable to conventional fixed-keel yachts.
The current range includes the Southerly 420, 480 and 580. These are built as serious cruising yachts, with layouts and systems intended for owners considering coastal exploration, extended voyages or bluewater sailing.
World Wide Boat Brokers is the exclusive Queensland dealer for Excess Catamarans.
Excess is part of Groupe Beneteau and produces performance-oriented cruising catamarans. The range is intended for owners who want the space and stability of a catamaran while retaining a more connected and lively sailing experience.
The current range includes the Excess 11, Excess 13 and Excess 14. These models use twin aft helms positioned closer to the sails and water, giving the person steering a more direct view of sail trim and conditions.
World Wide Boat Brokers can help Queensland buyers compare layouts, choose factory options, order a new boat and manage delivery, commissioning and local support.
The company is an authorised Queensland agent for Hanse.
Hanse builds German cruising yachts designed around easy handling, modern interiors and short-handed sailing. Common features across the range include self-tacking headsails and sail controls led back towards the helm.
The range stretches from compact coastal cruisers to larger yachts intended for extended cruising and offshore passages. Current models include the Hanse 315, 348, 360, 410, 461, 510 and 590.
Hanse may suit couples or families who want a modern monohull that can be handled without assembling a large crew every time they leave the marina.
Dehler is the performance and cruiser-racer side of the Hanse Group portfolio.
Its yachts are designed for owners who enjoy responsive sailing and may want to combine comfortable cruising with club racing or regatta participation. The range includes the Dehler 34, 38 SQ and 46 SQ.
Buyers can choose between more performance-focused equipment and a cruising-oriented specification. World Wide Boat Brokers can assist with sails, instruments, keel options, rig setup and commissioning for the yacht’s intended use.
Moody produces deck-saloon cruising yachts designed around protected living spaces, excellent visibility and long-distance comfort.
The current range includes the Moody Decksaloon 41, 48 and 54. Their single-level living concept creates a close connection between the cockpit, saloon and galley, while providing greater protection from weather than a conventional open-cockpit yacht.
Moody may appeal to couples considering extended cruising who want the safety and sailing ability of a monohull with a brighter, more protected living arrangement.
World Wide Boat Brokers also represents the Hanse Group’s Fjord and Sealine motor-yacht ranges in Queensland.
Fjord builds distinctive open motor yachts with large single-level entertaining areas, near-vertical bows and strong visual styling. The range includes day boats, sport models and larger open yachts.
Sealine produces German-built family motor yachts with extensive glazing, flexible indoor-outdoor spaces and cruiser, sport and flybridge configurations.
These brands allow the team to help clients interested in powerboating as well as sailing.
World Wide Boat Brokers operates a yacht syndication program for people who want genuine boat ownership without carrying the entire cost and workload alone.
Under the published model, a small group shares ownership of a high-value yacht. Current syndicates use one-fifth equity shares, with each participant receiving allocated time aboard during the year.
The yacht is professionally managed and maintained, reducing the everyday work associated with marina administration, insurance, servicing and preparing the boat before each trip.
Published syndication opportunities have focused on yachts based in the Whitsundays. Vessel availability, annual costs, booking rules and share structures can change, so prospective owners need to review the current syndicate agreement carefully.
The brokerage works with larger yachts and superyachts through a team that includes a naval architect and former superyacht captains.
Support can include vessel sales, acquisitions and coordination across the wider superyacht industry. The team’s international contacts may also help when a vessel is located overseas or a buyer needs specialist support across several jurisdictions.
The Whitsundays office is led by Dan Howcroft, whose background includes working from deckhand through to captain in the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Australia and South Pacific. He also established a superyacht agency in the Whitsundays and has experience in yacht management and marina support.
Marine insurance assistance is available through the company’s partnership with Aqua Marine HQ.
Lisa Clinton is a co-founder of World Wide Boat Brokers and the principal of Aqua Marine HQ. She works as a marine insurance agent and helps boat owners seek cover for newly purchased and existing vessels.
Insurance approval, premiums, exclusions and cruising limits depend on the vessel, owner experience, location and intended use. Some insurers may also request a current survey, rigging information or evidence of previous boating experience.
The brokerage advertises insurance assistance without broker fees, allowing buyers to begin discussing cover while the boat purchase is still progressing.
One of World Wide Boat Brokers’ strongest features is the range of experience within its team.
Ant Kovacevic leads the company as CEO, yacht broker and naval architect. He graduated with honours in naval architecture and worked on marine projects for almost a decade before moving into yacht sales.
Other members of the team bring experience in superyachts, marine electrical systems, commercial fishing, vessel construction, tug operations, yacht delivery, offshore cruising, racing, marketing and finance.
This gives the business access to people who understand boats from several angles, rather than treating every vessel as a standard sales transaction.

Introductory paragraphs for a sailing guide to the Ribbon Reefs (Queensland): two short paragraphs describing what makes the Ribbon Reefs distinctive from the water, the sailing experiences they offer, the kinds of boats and preparation required, relationships between sheltered lagoon waters and exposed outer reef, and how the Ribbon Reefs connect to nearby cruising grounds such as Lizard Island and the northern Cairns area.
Expect very different seasonal systems across Western Australia: the south‑west (Perth to Albany) has a strong summer afternoon sea breeze (the “Fremantle Doctor”) and winter westerly fronts, while northern WA follows a wet/dry monsoonal cycle with strong seasonal onshore winds, thunderstorms and cyclone risk in the wet season. Local headlands, estuaries and tidal flows often change what you actually feel on the water, so learn the local timing and sheltered venues first.

Legal safety equipment for recreational boats in South Australia depends on the type, size and where you operate; you must check the current SA government requirements for your vessel. Independently of legal minimums, carry a sensible set of recommended items (lifejackets, means of communication, signaling, fire protection, anchor and basic tools) and make them usable and maintained.

Maybe — it depends. In NSW you often need registration and a boat operator licence for motorised vessels, but many small trailerable sailing dinghies without engines don’t require boat registration or a licence. Check the specific rules for your craft, trailer and engine.
