Definition
The period is measured in seconds from the start of one flash or group to the start of the next identical event, and is the single most reliable discriminator between similar lights. Time at least three cycles and average, since a stopwatch started on the first flash is prone to reaction error. In Fl(2)10s the 10 seconds includes both flashes, the short eclipse between them and the long eclipse before the next group.
