Definition
Painted in red and white vertical stripes, with a single red sphere topmark if the body is a pillar or spar; spherical bodies need no topmark. The light is white and may be isophase, occulting, one long flash every 10 seconds, or Morse A. It marks a fairway, mid-channel or landfall position and may be passed on either side. A landfall buoy showing LFl 10s is a common first waypoint for an offshore arrival.
