Definition
In addition to sidelights and a sternlight, a sailing vessel under way may exhibit two all-round lights in a vertical line at or near the masthead, red above green. They are entirely optional and may not be combined with a tricolour lantern, so a yacht showing them must also carry separate sidelights and a sternlight. Their practical value is limited, since many watchkeepers confuse them with the status lights of working vessels.
