Definition
By measuring the carrier phase difference of the same satellite signals arriving at two or three antennas on a fixed baseline, the unit computes the orientation of that baseline in space and hence true heading, typically to a fraction of a degree with a baseline of a metre or more. It is immune to magnetic disturbance and needs no swinging, but depends on satellite reception, so signal blockage, jamming or spoofing removes the heading output entirely.
