About Leeuwin Ocean Adventure
Leeuwin Ocean Adventure is a Western Australian charity that owns and sails STS Leeuwin II, a three-masted barquentine launched in Fremantle in 1986. Four-hour public day sails leave from Victoria Quay in Fremantle, with some scheduled from Busselton and Albany, and longer voyages include Youth Adventure voyages for ages 14 to 24 and Ocean Adventure voyages for people 16 and over.
At 55 metres with 16 sails, Leeuwin II is Australia's largest sail training tall ship, crewed by paid staff and volunteers. On a day sail you can help set sails and steer, or climb the bowsprit or foremast when the weather allows. The Ultimate Challenge Voyage is a five-day program for people with disability.
Day sails suit families, groups and anyone curious about traditional tall ship sailing, with group rates for 20 to 40 people and school and private charters on enquiry. Under-18s must be accompanied by a guardian, closed shoes are required, and voyages are booked by application, so check dates and eligibility early.
