Flagship International Yacht Brokers

Buying a yacht through Flagship

Buyers can browse Flagship’s collection of new and pre-owned yachts using filters for make, model, age, length, cabins and price. The inventory covers everything from family cruising boats and stylish day boats to explorer yachts, luxury motor yachts and superyachts.

The brokerage team can help buyers compare vessels, organise inspections and understand how different yachts may suit their plans. That could mean finding a comfortable boat for weekends around Sydney Harbour, a family cruiser for longer coastal trips or a serious long-range yacht designed for extended passagemaking.

Once a suitable yacht has been found, Flagship can assist with negotiations and coordinate the stages leading towards settlement, including surveys, sea trials, documentation and handover.

Selling a yacht

For owners preparing to sell, Flagship provides a managed brokerage service covering valuation, presentation, marketing, inspections, negotiations and the transaction process.

The first step generally involves inspecting the yacht, reviewing its condition, equipment and inventory, and discussing a realistic market position with the owner. From there, the team develops a marketing approach intended to put the vessel in front of qualified buyers locally, nationally and, where appropriate, internationally.

Flagship’s sales team can manage enquiries, inspections and negotiations while keeping the owner informed. They can also help coordinate the survey, sea trial and settlement stages once a buyer has been secured.

The brokerage has experience with a broad selection of premium vessels, from established Australian brands to European luxury yachts, explorer yachts and larger internationally marketed boats.

Yacht Buyers Agent

One of Flagship’s particularly useful services is its Yacht Buyers Agent offering. This is designed for clients who would like an experienced broker representing their interests during the search and purchase process.

The service can begin with creating a clear buying brief based on intended use, preferred cruising area, budget, accommodation requirements and ownership expectations. Flagship can then research suitable yachts, compare asking prices, arrange inspections and help negotiate with sellers or their representatives.

This can be especially helpful when the right vessel is located interstate or overseas. It is also valuable for buyers who do not have the time to monitor the market themselves or who want a knowledgeable second opinion before committing to a major purchase.

Flagship can coordinate the practical stages of the transaction, including inspections, surveys, sea trials and settlement arrangements. Buyers should still obtain any independent surveying, legal, insurance or financial advice appropriate to their purchase.

New yacht representation

Flagship represents a carefully selected portfolio of international yacht builders. The current range includes Marex Boats, Nordhavn Yachts, Numarine Yachts, Schaefer Yachts, Silver Yachts and Toy Marine Boats.

The team can introduce buyers to available models, explain the differences between ranges and help work through equipment, layouts, specifications and delivery options. For clients commissioning a new vessel, Flagship can remain involved throughout the process, from the early model selection and specification stages through to construction updates, delivery and owner handover.

Marex Boats

Marex is a Norwegian boatbuilder known for practical, comfortable motor cruisers designed around relaxed family boating. The range combines Scandinavian styling with clever use of space, protected entertaining areas and layouts suited to coastal cruising.

Flagship is the exclusive Australian distributor for Marex Boats, providing a local point of contact for model enquiries, specifications, orders and delivery support.

Nordhavn Yachts

Nordhavn is one of the best-known names in long-range passagemaking. Its yachts are created for owners who want the range, construction and onboard systems needed for serious offshore cruising and extended time aboard.

Flagship’s Nordhavn offering is particularly relevant to buyers considering ocean passages, remote cruising or a yacht capable of operating as a comfortable long-term home on the water.

Numarine Yachts

Numarine builds contemporary explorer yachts with bold exterior styling, generous living areas and layouts intended for long-distance cruising. Flagship represents Numarine in Australia and New Zealand, including models from the builder’s XP and XPC explorer ranges.

These yachts are aimed at owners looking for the space and comfort of a luxury motor yacht while retaining the range and capability associated with explorer-style boating.

Schaefer Yachts

Schaefer Yachts produces Brazilian-built motor yachts with an emphasis on open living spaces, entertaining and contemporary styling. The range includes models suited to day boating, weekends away and longer coastal cruising.

Flagship can assist Australian buyers with model information, specifications and the new-yacht purchase process.

Silver Yachts

Silver Yachts is an Australian builder recognised internationally for its distinctive aluminium superyachts. Its vessels combine lightweight construction, performance and long-range capability with highly individual exterior and interior design.

For clients exploring a significant new-build or superyacht project, Flagship provides a local connection to the brand and can assist with initial discussions and the enquiry process.

Toy Marine Boats

Toy Marine is an Italian boatbuilder known for elegant motorboats that combine classic styling with modern construction and performance. These boats are well suited to day trips, entertaining and relaxed coastal use, particularly for owners who appreciate understated European design.

Flagship can help interested buyers explore the available models, specifications and ownership options.

New-build guidance

Buying a new yacht involves considerably more than choosing a model and signing an order. Layout decisions, equipment packages, electronics, engineering options, interior finishes, delivery arrangements and commissioning all need to be considered.

Flagship helps clients work through those choices and communicate with the builder. The team can also assist with delivery preparation, local commissioning and the practical handover process once the yacht reaches its new owner.

Yacht management

Flagship’s yacht management division supports owners who want their vessel professionally maintained and ready for use. Services are tailored to the yacht and can range from routine washdowns and condition checks to planned maintenance, engineering support and larger cosmetic or technical projects.

A maintenance schedule can be developed around the vessel’s systems, manufacturer recommendations and actual use. Detailed records and logbooks help owners keep track of completed work and upcoming requirements.

This service can be particularly valuable for owners who travel regularly, keep their yacht some distance from home or simply prefer to spend their time boating instead of coordinating contractors.

Engineering and preventive maintenance

The management team can coordinate mechanical, electrical and general technical maintenance using trusted marine trades and service providers. Preventive maintenance is a major part of the approach, helping identify developing issues before they become expensive or interfere with a planned trip.

Owners can also arrange haul-outs, underwater inspections, antifouling, Propspeed application and out-of-water servicing. Flagship has access to specialist facilities and contractors for both routine work and more substantial maintenance periods.

Budgets and running costs

For larger or more actively used yachts, Flagship can assist with annual operating budgets and account management. Depending on the vessel, this may cover maintenance, fuel, insurance, crew costs, marina expenses and planned events or cruising.

Having this information organised in one place can make ownership much easier, particularly when several contractors, crew members or service providers are involved.

International reach

While Flagship’s home base is Sydney, the company has a wider network extending through Queensland and into Asia.

The Queensland office is located at Gold Coast City Marina in Coomera, placing the team close to one of Australia’s largest concentrations of marine trades, boatbuilders and refit facilities. The Thailand office at Phuket Boat Lagoon provides an additional connection to the busy Southeast Asian yacht market.

The business also has team members with experience in Hong Kong, China and other international markets. This helps when sourcing overseas yachts, marketing larger vessels internationally or assisting clients whose boating plans extend beyond Australia.

Who Flagship is likely to suit

Flagship is a strong option for buyers who want guidance rather than simply being pointed towards a list of boats. It is equally well suited to owners looking for an actively managed sales campaign, international exposure or ongoing help after the transaction is completed.

The combination of brokerage, new-yacht representation, buyers-agent support and yacht management means clients can continue working with the same team across several stages of ownership.
