Definition
The EP is constructed by plotting the water track from the last fix using course steered and distance through the water, then applying the tidal stream vector for the same interval as set and drift, and any leeway offset. It is plotted as a dot inside a triangle and labelled with the time. The EP is the navigator's best position in the absence of an observed fix and should be updated whenever a new tidal hour begins.
