Definition
The vessel stems the stream, lets go the first anchor and continues ahead, veering roughly twice the intended final scope, then lets go the second anchor. She then drops back, heaving in on the first cable and veering the second until she lies midway between them with equal cable each side. Used in narrow tidal berths where a single anchor would allow too large a swinging circle.
