Route Check

Definition

Route check tests every leg of the planned route against the chart database within a user-set corridor half-width, listing every crossing of the safety contour and every prohibited or cautionary area encountered. It is only as good as the corridor width, the safety contour setting and the underlying data quality, and it does not assess tidal height, so a leg that passes the check at high water may still be unusable. Every reported item must be examined individually.
