Margate Marina at Barretta offers 140 floating berths from 10 m to 40 m, with power and water, a slipyard for boats up to 18 m / 23 tonnes, dry storage, and a fuel/pump-out pontoon. Diesel and 91 unleaded are self-service 24/7; pump-out operates during office hours seven days a week.

The Motor Yacht Club of Tasmania runs a floating marina at Lindisfarne with about 150 berths, moorings, dinghy storage and hardstand. Its fuel wharf supplies diesel and unleaded fuel to members and non-members; the club's slipways are for member use.

Oyster Cove Marina at Kettering offers 300 floating berths for vessels from 8 m to 20 m, plus first-in visitor berthing. Its onsite boatyard has a 45-tonne travel lift for boats up to 20 m long and 6.1 m beam. Contact the office for current rates and boatyard bookings.

Port Huon Marina, formerly Kermandie Marina, has 80 wet berths on the Huon River with water and power, three-phase power on request, showers and toilets. Its onsite boatyard provides a 63-tonne travel lift, hardstand and ramp; nearby hotel amenities are offsite.

Prince of Wales Bay Marina operates 350 floating berths near Hobart, accommodating vessels up to 40 m. Berths have metered shore power; facilities include a self-service diesel/ULP fuel dock, complimentary pump-out, showers, laundry, security and two courtesy vehicles. Kingston Beach Sailing Club is a friendly family club at the southern end of Kingston Beach, where the River Derwent meets the open water south of Hobart. Founded by local sailing families in 1954, it runs a sailing school for juniors and adults, Tackers courses, powerboat courses, and a season of social and competitive racing from October to April.

Lauderdale Yacht Club is a volunteer-run dinghy and catamaran club at Roches Beach on Frederick Henry Bay, about 20 minutes south-east of Hobart. Founded in 1974, it races most Sunday afternoons in the warmer months, runs sail training for youth and adults, and hosts the King of the Bay Regatta and national championships.

Leven Yacht Club is a friendly, volunteer-run sailing club on the Leven River at Ulverstone on Tasmania's north-west coast. Formed in 1950 from a club dating back to 1933, it offers learn to sail, Saturday racing, Discover Sailing Days and a SailPass for newcomers, with fleets that include RS dinghies, Sabots, B14 skiffs and off-the-beach catamarans.

Macquarie Harbour Sailing Club is a community sailing club on Beach Street, Strahan, on Tasmania's rugged west coast. It offers sail training and relaxed social sailing on Macquarie Harbour, and its waterfront has hosted regattas such as the Cock'O the West Regatta.

Mersey Yacht Club has been sailing on the Mersey River at Devonport since 1923 and is the finish port for the ORCV Melbourne to Devonport Yacht Race. From its waterfront clubhouse on Anchor Drive, East Devonport, it runs Saturday racing from October to April, a winter series, sail training in Pacers and RS Fevas, and a marina, slipway and function venue.

Midway Point Yacht Club is a community sailing club on Pittwater near Sorell, about 25 minutes east of Hobart. Founded in 1968 and built by its own members, it runs sail training, a Come and Try opening day, club racing from October to April in classes such as the NS14, B14 and Sabre, and the annual Pittwater Regatta.

Montrose Bay Yacht Club is a friendly dinghy club on the River Derwent at Montrose, in Hobart's northern suburbs. Founded in 1951, it welcomes sailors from age eight with training and club boats, has a proud record in Moths, Sabots and Mirrors, and offers its clubrooms — complete with a parquetry dance floor — for functions.

Port Cygnet Sailing Club has been sailing on Port Cygnet in the Huon Valley since 1863 and is home to the Cygnet Regatta, held every March. Today it runs keelboat racing, a Go Yacht Racing program, Discover Sailing for juniors, a Water Women program, a cruising group, St Ayles skiff rowing and radio-controlled sailing, with moorings, a slipway and a clubhouse for hire.

Port Dalrymple Yacht Club (PDYC) is a mixed yacht club based at Beauty Point on the Tamar River (Port Dalrymple) in northern Tasmania. The club supports keelboat and dinghy racing, a learn-to-sail program, radio-controlled DF65 model yacht racing and club social activities from its clubhouse and waterfront facilities at Kemps Parade.

Port Esperance Sailing Club in Dover calls itself the southernmost yacht club in Australia. Its sailing history goes back to an 1858 regatta, and after its old clubhouse was destroyed by fire in 2020, the community rebuilt it — the new clubhouse opened in 2024. The club runs dinghy racing, cruising, learn to sail, the Easter Port Esperance Regatta and a lively winter social calendar.

The Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania is the state's largest yacht club and the Hobart host of the Rolex Sydney Hobart. From its marina and clubhouse on the River Derwent at Sandy Bay, it runs keelboat racing from summer twilights to the 180-nautical-mile Maria Island Race, Tackers and OutThere learn-to-sail programmes for young sailors, powerboat and safety courses, and a 210-berth marina with a fuel dock and boat yard.

Sailability Tasmania has been helping people of all abilities get out on the water since 1999, with volunteer-run sailing in Hobart, Launceston and Wynyard. It welcomes sailors regardless of age, ability or background, with a particular focus on people with disability, and asks only for a small donation to help cover running costs.

Sandy Bay Sailing Club is a volunteer-run family dinghy club at Long Point on Hobart's River Derwent, founded in 1948 to get young people — girls included — out sailing. It fields Optimists, International Cadets, ILCAs, 29ers, 49ers, WASZPs and windsurfers, runs Tackers, Cadet, OutThere and adult learn-to-sail programs, and hosts the 2026 International Cadet Australian Championships.
